Against Measure J

Against Measure J

August 28th, 2006 – Letters to the Editor – The Tribune

I don’t understand why one property owner, Mr. Dalidio, should be given special permission to shortcut the planning and environmental laws that protect all the other people in San Luis Obispo County from things such as traffic jams, smog and flooded roads.

Measure J is not a poll about whether we like Mr. Dalidio or want more retail stores. It actually gives the developer legal authority to build this very large project without being responsible for the problems it might cause. No other developer in San Luis Obispo County has ever built a project that way.

Can we please think ahead for a minute and make sure we do what’s right for the whole county? Measure J does just the opposite.
