Nipomo Community Services District Directors unanimously oppose Measure J

“The Nipomo Community Services District Board of Directors voted unanimously to oppose Measure J-06 at its October 25, 2006 Board Meeting. The Board was concerned that development of the Dalidio property as proposed in Measure J-06 could result in delay in construction of the Willow Road interchange if the funding for Willow Road was diverted to address congestion in South San Luis Obispo. The Board was also concerned with the precedent that would be set if Measure J-06 passed in terms of other large developments attempting to by-pass the standard land use approval process. For Nipomo, the Board wants to discourage developers from asking the voters to approve projects for which there is no water supply or to approve lower funding contributions for supplemental water.”
