Impartial cost estimates from Caltrans puts the cost of the Prado Road interchange at $32-39 million in 2006. It is likely to cost far more in the five to seven years likely needed to plan and construct the overpass. If Measure J passes, the Dalidio Ranch developers' cash contribution will be limited to $4 million. County taxpayers will pay MILLIONS to cover the shortfall.
