Vote ‘No’ on J

Vote ‘No’ on J

October 8th, 2006 – Letters to the Editor – The Tribune

Last year the people of San Luis Obispo voted against the Dalidio project. The vote of the residents of San Luis Obispo ought to mean a great deal to everyone. But to some people it does not. The project — now called Measure J — has been moved to the county level for a new vote in order to try to overturn the will of the locals. It is an “I’ll force this down your throat” attitude. Please, think of the consequences.

If communities such as Paso Robles, Atascadero, Pismo Beach, etc., are allowed to go against the decision of the San Luis voters, then where are we going in this county? Next time it will be you, Pismo Beach, who will have something forced upon you, or you, Los Osos. We all have been good neighbors for a long time; are we going to be at each other’s throats from now on? I hope not. So, whether you like the Dalidio project or not, please vote “no” on Measure J because the future of San Luis Obispo ought to be in the hands of San Luis Obispo.

Odile Ayral, San Luis Obispo
